Covered Bridges
Covered bridges have a beauty all their own. The old weathered wood and charming architecture has withstood the test of time.
Pennsylvania has over 200 covered bridges. Lancaster, Pennsylvania is second only to Parke County, Indiana in number of covered bridges.
My children and I have just returned from a road trip through Pennsylvania on our way to Washington, D.C. On our travels we found Kurtz Mill Covered Bridge over Mill Creek in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Kurtz Mill Covered Bridge was originally named Isaac Baer’s Mill Bridge. It was first built over the Conestoga River in 1876. But, in 1972 is was damaged by flood waters from Hurrican Agnus and moved to Lancaster County Central Park.
I took several photographs of this weathered historic covered bridge which are available at Lora Severson Photography.
In this poster, the bridge has been digitally painted to enhance the rustic qualities of it.
